Paul Christensen appeals his conviction of possession of controlled substances, cocaine and LSD. The primary issue concerns whether Mr. Christensen knowingly and intelligently waived his right to counsel. We reverse.

At his preliminary appearance September 13, 1982, Mr. Christensen appeared in person and was not represented by counsel. He was advised by both the prosecutor and the court to obtain counsel and the arraignment was postponed...
