Plaintiff, Bart Van Dike, was seriously injured when he unsuccessfully attempted to perform a double back somersault on a trampoline owned by Scott and Kathryn Rainey. The accident occurred at a party in the Raineys' backyard. Plaintiff sued the Raineys; AMF Incorporated, the manufacturer of the trampoline; Midwest Trampoline Sales Company, the distributor; and McCoy, Inc., which sold the trampoline to the Raineys.
