The United States appeals from the district court's dismissal under the Speedy Trial Act (STA), 18 U.S.C. §§ 3161-3174 (1982), of its indictment charging Jack Leroy Gallardo, Jr., with interference with commerce by threats or violence, 18 U.S.C. § 1951 (1982), and embezzlement from a savings and loan association, 18 U.S.C. § 651 (1982).
