On October 6, 1982, a federal grand jury returned an indictment against 16 "patchwearing" and probate members of the Outlaw Motorcycle Club. Charges were brought under provisions of the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act, 18 U.S.C.A. § 1962(c) and (d), alleging substantive violation of and conspiracy to violate the statute.
