This proceeding arises out of the trial and conviction in Westfield Municipal Court of Jeffrey B. Darby. Shortly after Darby's trial, presided over by respondent, former Municipal Court Judge Robert C. Thomson,1 Darby hanged himself in the Westfield jail.
