Mary Lee Lumpkin Pierce died on May 11, 1981. On November 22, 1982, more than a year after her death, Robert L. Pierce, her son, sued his sister Bessie Rae Pierce Thompson, as the administratrix of Mrs. Pierce's estate, to recover amounts allegedly due on three promissory notes which Mrs. Pierce had executed in his favor.
