Defendant-Appellant Mitchell (a/k/a Mitchel) D. Howard was found guilty during a bench trial by the Wabash Circuit Court of the crimes of class B felony neglect of a dependent and class C felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury. The trial court subsequently sentenced Appellant to twenty years imprisonment for neglect and to eight years imprisonment for battery, said sentences to be served consecutively.
