This is a consolidated appeal by the state from orders in which the trial court concluded that the evidence presented at a preliminary examination was insufficient to establish probable cause to believe defendants Weister and DeFord committed felonies. The defendants were each charged with three counts of fraudulently obtaining signatures on writings as principals and as parties to a crime, secs. 943.39(2) and 939.05, Stats., and one count...
