On February 5, 1982, the grand jury for the Parish of Jefferson returned a true bill of indictment charging Ricky Nicholas with the first degree murder of Pamela Nelson in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30. The arraignment, set for March 10, 1982, was continued at the request of the assistant district attorney.
