Appellant Nollie Lee Martin was convicted in Palm Beach County, Florida, of first-degree murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, and forcible sexual battery, and was sentenced to death. After exhausting his state remedies, Martin filed in federal district court a petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254.
