Defendant was convicted on June 19, 1984, of attempted second degree murder, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1 and R.S. 14:27. He was sentenced on June 25, 1984, to 15 years at hard labor in the custody of the Louisiana Department of Corrections. On June 27 he moved for and was granted an order of appeal. Two days later, on June 29, the district attorney filed an information charging him as a multiple offender (two prior felonies) under R.S. 15:529...
