The defendant, Charles Alexander Badgett, was convicted of grand larceny and was sentenced to life imprisonment as a habitual criminal. On appeal, he challenges (1) the sufficiency of the evidence, (2) the admissibility of evidence of pending charges against him, (3) the propriety of the jury instructions, and (4) the validity of his life sentence.
