The defendant, W.D. "Dub" Simpson, was arrested on April 18, 1983. On April 28, 1983, a Vernon Parish grand jury returned an indictment on Mr. Simpson, his wife Bertha, and Gary Eason, charging them with one (1) count of conspiracy to commit simple criminal damage to property, a violation of La.R.S. 14:56 and 14:26; and three (3) counts of simple criminal damage to property, violations of La.R.S. 14:56.
