OPINION

BRETT, Judge:

The appellant, Michael Lee Collums, was charged in the District Court of Washington County, Case No. CRF-81-195, with Murder in the First Degree, in violation of 21 O.S. 1981, § 701.7 B, and Arson in the First Degree, in violation of 21 O.S. 1981, § 1401. He was convicted of the former offense but acquitted of the latter. The jury returned a sentence of life imprisonment.
