On February 28, 1984, Dennis R. Effenbeck was stopped and arrested for driving while intoxicated. AS 28.35.030. He subsequently moved to suppress "all evidence derived from" the stop, including a breathalyzer result of .15%, on the grounds that the stop was illegal.
