1. BACKGROUND

These consolidated civil actions had their genesis in a fire at E.J. Stewart, Inc.'s (E.J. Stewart) leased premises on January 31, 1980. The fire apparently started in an area near a suspended electric radiant heater in E.J. Stewart's warehouse. E.J. Stewart, a video production company, brought suit in Civil Action 81-3292 against the manufacturers...
