Cullen Domingue was indicted by the Assumption Parish grand jury for first degree murder. He pled not guilty by reason of insanity1, and elected to proceed by jury trial. On the date the trial was scheduled to begin, the state amended the indictment to charge second degree murder. Defendant pled not guilty to the amended bill. The jury convicted him as charged. Thereafter, defendant moved for a post-verdict judgment of acquittal...
