Eddie Wrighten appeals his conviction for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Punishment was enhanced because of two prior felony convictions, and assessed at life imprisonment. Wrighten contends that the trial court committed fundamental error by assuming an element of the offense in the court's charge, and that he was denied effective assistance of counsel in violation of state and federal constitutional provisions. We overrule both contentions...
