The defendant was convicted by a jury of larceny in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-119 (8) and 53a-122 (a) (2).1 The defendant has appealed, claiming that the trial court erred in not granting his motion for judgment of acquittal on the grounds that the state failed to prove the market value of the stolen items or that such a value could not be satisfactorily ascertained.
