Jerome M. Armant, Jr., appeals from the district court's denial of his petition for writ of habeas corpus. In his petition, Armant alleges that his sixth amendment right to self-representation was violated by the California Superior Court. After an unequivocal, timely request to proceed pro se, Armant sought a continuance in order to prepare his defense.
