By the verdict of a jury, appellant was found guilty of second degree murder in the shooting death, which occurred on October 21, 1984, of Ollie Cooper, the mayor of Weaubleau, Missouri. The jury assessed punishment at 15 years imprisonment, and accordingly, the trial court entered sentence in the Division of Corrections for that term less 199 days...
