PER CURIAM.

This appeal involves two consolidated cases that were dismissed by a justice of the Superior Court for lack of prosecution pursuant to powers conferred upon that court by Rule 41(b)(1) and (2) of the Superior Court Rules of Civil Procedure. Since these cases have unique procedural aspects and involve the participation of a number of attorneys, a history of the litigation is necessary to an understanding of the ruling of the trial justice...
