The Hobleys borrowed $24,000 from the Butte County Bank, signing a promissory note and a security agreement covering their farm machinery, farm products and livestock. When the bank was not paid it brought suit for judgment on the promissory note and for claim and delivery of the collateral. A stipulated judgment was entered against the Hobleys, and the collateral eventually was sold. The sale did not generate proceeds sufficient to satisfy the judgment...
