James P. Graham filed suit under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 alleging that certain correctional officers and officials at the Iowa State Penitentiary violated his constitutional rights. The case was referred to a magistrate who found that defendants had violated Graham's procedural due process rights in conducting a disciplinary hearing, but rejected Graham's claim that defendants had been deliberately indifferent to his serious medical needs...
