Jerry Lewis (defendant) was initially charged by grand jury indictment with manslaughter, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:31. Defendant pled guilty and was sentenced to a twenty-one year term of imprisonment. Defendant filed a pro se motion to withdraw his guilty plea, which the trial court granted.
