Appellant was tried before a jury on a multi-count indictment including charges of taking indecent liberties with a female under the age of 16 and of assaulting her with intent to commit sodomy in violation of D.C.Code §§ 22-503, -3502 (1981). He was convicted on the latter count. In this court, he challenges not his conviction but the enhanced sentence imposed pursuant to D.C.Code § 22-104(a) (1981) because of a prior conviction...
