Defendant appeals from judgment and sentence for first-degree kidnapping in violation of Iowa Code section 710.2, asserting that the trial court erred: (1) in failing to suppress a taped statement given by defendant implicating himself in the crime; (2) in allowing the victim to testify that defendant told her he had escaped from a Nebraska prison while serving a sentence for murder and in denying defendant's motion for mistrial after a police officer...
