Attorney Frank E. Glowacki appeals from a final order of the district court vacating its previous order awarding attorney's fees to him payable by the Village of Crete. Glowacki was retained by two individual police officers, who were sued under section 1983 for unlawfully arresting and beating the plaintiff, after their employer and co-defendant, the Village of Crete, refused to defend them. The Village ultimately effected a settlement...
