KNOLL, Judge.

We granted writs on the application of the defendants, Earl E. Clark, Jr., and Bret K. Verrett, who were convicted of taking deer during closed season in violation of LSA-R.S. 56:123(C). The sole issue is whether the defendants were improperly sentenced under an unconstitutional statute. We affirm in part, reverse in part, and remand.
