The defendant, Clyde Allen, was charged by bill of information with attempted first degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:27 and 14:30. After a jury trial, the defendant was convicted of this offense and sentenced to serve 50 years at hard labor. Finding that a firearm was used in the commission of this felony offense, the trial court applied the provisions of LSA-C. Cr.P. Art. 893.1 and imposed the sentence without benefit of probation, parole...
