Betty S. Taylor sued Seaboard System Railroad, Inc., to recover damages for an on-the-job injury to her back allegedly cause by the negligence of a fellow Seaboard employee. The cause of action was predicated on the Federal Employers' Liability Act, 45 USC § 51 et seq. (FELA). A jury returned a verdict in her favor in the amount of $250,000, and Seaboard filed this appeal.
