On July 5, 1982 he contributed $1,000, out of his own ample funds, to a political committee formed to promote the candidacy of John Carnes for nomination in a party primary for Representative in Congress from Missouri's Fifth District. Pollard's contribution was not solicited by or paid to a member of the Police Department, and was not made on public premises...
