In September 1980, Claxton was the high bidder at a public sale of land owned by the Small Business Administration (SBA). After the sale, the SBA refused to convey the land and returned the $36,250 he paid for the property. Claxton consulted Williamson, an attorney, who associated Taggart to assist in handling the case. Suit was filed on Claxton's behalf against the SBA and the realty company that handled the auction, seeking specific performance...
