This Federal Tort Claims Action arises from a tragic mid-air collision on August 6, 1980. A Cessna 172 occupied by the plaintiffs' decedents collided with a Fairchild F-27 at 6600 feet near Bridgeport on the northwest fringe of the Dallas-Fort Worth air traffic control area. Although damaged by the collision, the F-27 airliner landed safely nearby without injury...
