On July 23, 1982, the Tuscaloosa County Grand Jury indicted appellant, Gregory Joseph Ledet, for unlawful possession of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). On January 27, 1983, he was found guilty of the charge and he was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment in the state penitentiary.

On April 7, 1982, between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., an informant, known to the police to be reliable, supplied information that appellant would be in possession...
