Following a bench trial in June of 1982, appellant was convicted of taking property without right, D.C.Code § 22-1211 (1981) (repealed December 1982), and simple assault, D.C.Code § 22-504 (1981). Appellant argues that the court's finding that he was guilty of simple assault is inconsistent with its finding that he was not guilty of possession of a prohibited weapon, D.C.Code § 22-3214(b) (1981).
