This action was brought under the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA), 29 U.S.C. § 412, for an injunction compelling plaintiffs-appellants' reinstatement as members of defendant Local No. 143. Their membership had been suspended, they alleged, "for failure to pay a ... fine assessed by the local on May 3, 1982," following a finding by the executive board of the Local that they had violated certain provisions...
