On September 2, 1980, plaintiff Sharon Bullock was involved in a parking lot accident with another driver, Helen Odom, who was insured by the defendant State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. ("State Farm"). Convinced that Odom was at fault, Bullock submitted a claim with State Farm for damages to her car.
