KLEES, Judge.

On January 11, 1982, the appellant was charged by bill of information with aggravated battery in violation of R.S. 14:34.1 He waived his right to trial by jury and on September 16, 1982, the trial judge found him guilty as charged. On November 30, 1982, he was sentenced to serve seven years at hard labor.
