Appellant, Lloyd Jones, was convicted by a jury of murder in the first degree. The jury found that appellant had, with premeditation and deliberation as required by Ark. Stat.Ann. § 41-1502 (Repl.1977), placed his 30-30 caliber rifle against the abdomen of his girlfriend, Annie Terry, and shot her. Appellant was sentenced to twenty-five years imprisonment.
