The defendant, Alvin Norman, was charged by grand jury indictment with forcible rape in violation of La.R.S. 14:42.1. He pled not guilty and, after a trial by jury, was found guilty as charged. The state filed a bill of information charging him as a second felony offender under the Louisiana Habitual Offender Law (La.R.S. 15:529.1[A][1]) alleging a prior conviction for armed robbery.
