The selectmen of the defendant Town of Pittsfield dismissed the plaintiff from his position as chief of police on January 13, 1982. Pursuant to RSA 105:2-a, the plaintiff petitioned the superior court for a hearing on the merits and reasonableness of the action, and also requested a temporary order reinstating him as chief.
