Defendant was convicted after a bench trial of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, MCL 750.520b(1)(e); MSA 28.788(2)(1)(e). He was subsequently sentenced to a term of from 5 to 15 years and appeals as of right.

Defendant first argues on appeal that, after being read his Miranda rights, he responded to an arresting officer's question with a statement later introduced into evidence against him; that the officers failed to take notes or otherwise...
