OPINION

MURRAY, Justice.

The defendant, Roger P. Rodriquez, appeals from a Superior Court conviction of robbery in violation of G.L. 1956 (1981 Reenactment) § 11-39-1. This case was consolidated with and heard together with State v. Isaac, 477 A.2d 62, (R.I. 1984) because of the existence of a common and central issue.
