Defendant, Tyrone Andrews, was charged by bill of information with having committed an aggravated battery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:34 during the course of a disturbance outside the football stadium at Zachary High School in East Baton Rouge Parish on the night of October 8, 1982. Defendant entered a plea of not guilty, was tried by a six-person jury, and found guilty as charged. He was subsequently sentenced to incarceration at hard labor for a period...
