Petitioners, Sherman Hodge and Charlie Ray Hodge, both indigents with different appointed counsel, were jointly charged with second-degree murder, LSA-R.S. 14:30.1, on January 26, 1984, in a single indictment. Each petitioner filed a motion to sever.
