On May 27, 1982, plaintiff obtained a default judgment against the defendant's John J. Blake and John J. Blake Realty Co., in plaintiff's tax foreclosure action vis-a-vis property located within the Detroit city limits. The third-party defendant, Metro Improvement Corporation, had intervened in the case and sought to have the default judgment set aside because the city failed to give Metro proper notice of the tax foreclosure proceedings.
