On May 18, 1983, the defendant, Thurmon Brent Thetford, was convicted, by a six person jury, of two counts of simple burglary, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:62, one count of theft of property having a value of $500.00 or more, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:67, and one count of unauthorized use of a movable of $2,000.00 in value, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:68.
