On February 1, 1984, following a jury trial in the circuit court of Moultrie County, defendant, Chester Ray, was convicted of burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1983, ch. 38, par. 19-1(a)). He was subsequently sentenced to three years' imprisonment and ordered to pay a $1,500 fine.
