Sharon Renee Nelson was convicted by the Anoka County District Court for wrongfully obtaining in excess of $2,500.00 in Aid to Families with Dependent Children ("AFDC") benefits in violation of Minn. Stat. § 256.98 (1982). Nelson was sentenced to the custody of the commissioner of corrections for a period of 19 months pursuant to Minn.Stat. § 609.52, subd. 3(1) (1982).
